Campus signage was updated in the early 2000s and this meant down at Sam South, too. As offices move out of Sam South, the sign gets updated. Computer Services and Residence Life Maintenance nameplates have been removed and the Small Business Development Center nameplate is spiffier than before. Well, sort of.

Sam South is a business/industrial complex located south of main campus on the south side of Sam Houston Avenue. The complex consists of several single-story structures housing industrial and maintenance space, administrative offices, and storage that assist with campus infrastructure. Structures associated with the complex include:

The complex was constructed as a $7 Million multi-tenant shopping center that went out of business in the 1980s. It went on the market for $1.7 million and purchased by the university for $450,000.
