The Delta Zeta chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority was formed from members of the Philomatheans (or "Philos") literary society, one of many similar groups that existed on campus at the beginning of the 19th Century. In 1959, the students of the club became charter members of the ZTA sorority. It is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference.
