Miriam (Korff) York, along with her husband Meredith, contributed over a half million dollars to various programs at SHSU including academic and athletic scholarships, the Sam Houston Memorial Museum, the Alumni Association, and other endowments. York attended the University of Houston, receiving degrees in 1943 and 1947, and attended Sam Houston State in the summer of 1959.
The York Track Complex was named in recognition of the York's contributions to the university. |
