An aerial photo of campus shows Frels and Wilson as apartments: cars parked on either side with Avenues I and J running through campus. The predominance of pavement in the heart of campus would be gone within a decade and a majority of the housing would be demolished.
While the Wilson Building hasn't been home to students in years, the sign still notes its role as housing.

Wilson Building

The Wilson Apartment building was a two-story, 16,684 square-foot dormitory in the central part of campus. It was one of five individual housing units constructed on what was the then-eastern border of the campus along Avenue I.

During the early 1980s campus beautification efforts reduced the flow of vehicular traffic through the heart of campus and most of the out-dated student housing, like the nearby Rix Apartments, was demolished. The remaining structures - the Wilson and Frels buildings - were last used for student housing in the early 1990s before renovations converted their use to office space. For a decade, both buildings housed various administrative offices in the heart of the campus.

Long-rumoured for demolition, it was announced in September 2004 that Wilson would be razed before the end of the decade; demolition occurred over the winter 2006 break. With the buildings gone, the area will be converted into an expanded mall area.
