The college operated "for the government forty pre-fabricated furnished apartments” built for the convenience of veterans who were married and had children.  The inexpensive quarters served families for a number of years until they deteriorated beyond repair.

Judging from various photographs of the era, it appears the structures stood south of the field on grounds where the tennis courts and Walker Education Center would later be located.
