The Chapter of Chi Omega Fraternity was on the Sam Houston Campus from 1965 to 2000.
In the Residence Life naming system, the Sigma Sigma Sigma house and the surrounding small houses were classified as "The Hill."

Sigma Sigma Sigma House

The Sigma Sigma Sigma House is one of the eight houses on Sorority Hill, located on the north side of campus.  It apparently has had a somewhat active history when it comes to names and occupants.

The house originally honored Margaret Houston, when the Hill consisted of five literary societies/sororities houses and the Houston, Jackson, and Shaver houses. Later, Chi Omega moved to the Hill and the name "Houston" was removed - though later given to the building that housed Kappa Delta.

Chi Omega members lived here until the chapter was disbanded in 2000. It then became Stewart House for two years. As Stewart House, it was the first residence hall used for the Bearkat Learning Community during the 2001-02 school year.

At the start of the 2002-03 school year the name changed again to reflect the new sorority.
