Marshall Rix was the Sam Houston State Teachrs College registrar.

A 1922 graduate of SHNI, as a student he served as president of the YMCA and was on the football and tennis teams. The Alcalde notes "Rix is versatile as he is shy. His long suit is running from the girls." The Rix Apartments were named in his honor.
