An aerial photograph shows the four small houses south of the main campus.
In the spring of 2005 the area between Aydelotte and McCray Houses was nothing more than a large, empty yard. The months ahead would make the area even emptier.
In the Residence Life naming system, Hathorn and the surrounding small houses were classified as "Four South," and later. "The Valley." The houses were demolished between 2001 and 2005.

Hathorn House

Hathorn House was located on Avenue I on the south side of campus.

The house was last used as student housing during the 1997-98 academic year. Residence Life, housed in nearby Gidley House, used the building as offices for the Residence Halls Association until 2001, when the Board of Regents approved its demolition because of foundation settling and damage.
