Robert Hutson is a 1965 graduate of Sam Houston and has served as president and chief executive officer of the First Bank of Houston.

He was honored by the anonymous Mr. Smith, who donated a $1 Million banking endowment to the university and a $350,000 scholarship donation in honor of Hutson, Smith�s long-time business associate. The university named the Business Administration Building in honor of both Smith and Hutson.
