Some of the university’s earliest baseball diamonds was located on the eastern edge of Pritchett Field, area now used as part of the Sam Houston Museum grounds. Bearkat Field was constructed southwest of the main campus on the College Farm Road in 1948.

Field dimensions of the ballpark are:

  • Left field: 300 feet.
  • Center field: 410 feet.
  • Right field: 340 feet.
The new home of Bearkat baseball, the Sanders Baseball Stadium, opened in 2005 east of Bowers Stadium.
