Student housing became popular along Seventeenth Street in the late-1950s to early-1960s, replacing landscaped residential areas.
In the Residence Life naming system, Creager and the surrounding small houses were classified as "Four West."

Creager House
 
Creager House is one of four small houses located west of main campus on Seventeenth Street.

The house was built for members of the men's social group, the Caballeros, who later became members of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
