George Rix

The Rix Efficiency Apartment building was a two-story dormitory in the central part of campus.  It was one of many residential buildings, including the Frels and Wilson Apartments, between Avenues I and J, the then-eastern border of campus.

With the need for more academic classroom space, the Houston and Rix Apartments and five Departmental Dorms were demolished in the early 1980s to make room for the General Purpose Classroom building and mall area.

The Rix Apartments were one of the short-lived housing units along Avenue I.
