The Raven Nest Golf Club is located southwest of main campus along Interstate 45. It’s the home course of the Bearkats and Huntsville Hornets.

The 7,001-yard, 18-hole golf course was constructed on 154 acres of land that was once the SHSU dairy pasture and rodeo grounds. A passageway under the Interstate connected the pasture land to the Agriculture Center.

Raven Nest opened in 2003 under a partnership with the city of Huntsville and SHSU; the first tournament was the 1st National Bank Master's Challenge on April 25, 2003. In 2005, the university acquired Raven’s Nest from the city to sponsor the PGA-affiliated Professional Golf Management program.

The course was designed by Tripp Davis.
