Hathorn House was located on Avenue I on the south side of campus. In the Residence Life naming system, Hathorn and the surrounding small houses were classified as "Four South," and then later as "The Valley."
The house was identified as one of the Men’s Cooperative Homes when its honorary name was approved by the Board of Regents [1].
The house was last used as student housing during the 1997-98 academic year. Residence Life, then housed in nearby Gidley House, used the building as offices for the Residence Halls Association until 2001, when the Board of Regents approved its demolition because of foundation settling and damage.
Raven Village was completed on the site in 2006. |

In the spring of 2005 the area between Aydelotte and McCray Houses was nothing more than a large, empty yard. The months ahead would make the area even emptier. |

In the mid-2000s, the remaining campus housing along Avenue I was leveled in preparation for Raven Village. |
