This house north of main campus along University Avenue was designed by Houston architect Harry D. Payne and built for Harry F. Estill for his retirement as president of the university; he resided here until his death in 1942. His daughter, Mary Sexton Estill, lived here until 1979.
In the mid-1980s the Episcopal Student Center moved from the old St. Stephen’s Church to this building. The building was later renamed Canterbury House around 1994. |
