Home to both Sam Houston State University's football and track programs, the Elliott T. Bowers Stadium is located on the eastern edge of campus and the longest serving facility in the Athletic Complex.
Originally named Bearkat Stadium, the 14,000-seat home of Bearkat football opened on September 13, 1986 with a 23-6 victory over Montana State. Prior to this stadium, football games and other campus events were held at historic Pritchett Field.
