Augusta J. Lawrence
Augusta Lawrence was a teacher of English from 1894-1937, resigning to become library assistant in the Texas Room. She also conducted a popular Bible Sunday School, and helped organize the campus YMCA. Her older sister, Ida (1854-1934), was a popular history teacher.

Lawrence House was named in her honor.
