Ottie E. Barrett
 
Ottie Barrett was a native of Madisonville, Texas and a 1928 graduate of SHSTC. As a student Barrett managed the school supply store (the "Y") and became its full-time manager after graduation. Barrett also was the Assistant Business Manager under Clifton Parkhill, becoming Business Manager after Parkhill's death; Barrett made DeWitt Holleman his assistant.

Barrett was an active citizen of Huntsville, serving as President of the Chamber of Commerce, Scoutmaster, and as an active member of First Methodist Church. He and his wife also owned and operated the Ball and Barrett Department store in downtown Huntsville.
